IRONpreneur
A solo endurance athlete in pre-dawn light, the moment before effort. Forged-metal cinematic tone.

For founders and executives who refuse to trade the business for the body

Scale the company. Forge the body. Refuse to choose.

The discipline that forges the body is the discipline that scales the company. Same engine, two outputs.

IronPreneur is the accountability system for founders and senior executives who are building serious companies while training seriously, whatever that volume looks like for your life. Endurance treated as a performance asset, not a guilty hobby. You don’t need permission to want both. You need a system that assumes you do.

The gap / why now

Everyone covers one axis. Nobody covers the intersection.

The market is not empty. It is fragmented. Strava owns the athlete. Startup Grind and Indie Hackers own the founder. Purple Patch coaches executives through an Ironman one at a time. Amalfi locks the intersection behind a luxury door. None of them connect the body that builds the business to the business itself.

Plot the real players against the six things a founder-athlete actually needs and the picture is unmistakable. Every existing solution hugs the center, strong on one axis, absent on the rest. IronPreneur is the only shape that reaches the edge on all six.

Specificity is the moat. Vagueness is death.

The competitive map

Six vectors. One shape that fills them.

Each axis is a dimension a serious founder-athlete needs. Existing platforms score high on one or two and collapse toward the center on the rest. IronPreneur is built to reach the outer edge on every axis at once.

IronPreneur, reaching the edge on all six.

A single founder-athlete, one half in training kit, one half in business attire: two identities, one person.

The IronPreneur phenotype

They were always the same tribe.

The people who build serious companies and also train as serious endurance athletes, whether they founded the company or run it, are not two personalities forced into one schedule. The research keeps landing on the same finding: both populations share a single underlying profile of elevated risk acceptance, lower neuroticism, greater conscientiousness, and superior emotional regulation.

The discipline that carries you through hour seven of a brick session is the same discipline that carries a company through year three. The two pursuits are not competing for your willpower. They are compounding it. Click any trait below for the mechanism, the number, and the transfer.

Four traits the science finds in both. The detail is where the value is.

Three content pillars

Built on evidence, not affirmations.

01

The Health Equation

The evidence that extreme endurance is a performance asset, not a hobby. What 181 peer-reviewed sources actually say about athletic CEOs.

02

Performance Optimization

Frameworks for balancing serious training volume with scaling a company. Periodization, recovery, and the split-shift architecture of a day spent building a business and a body at once.

03

The IronPreneur Mindset

Grit, pacing, recovery, and long-term thinking treated as transferable operating principles: the same engine that finishes an Ironman finishes a fundraise.

The evidence base

The data is not subtle.

5–10%

more valuable companies

CEO marathoners lead companies measurably more valuable (Tobin's Q) than non-athletic peers, up to 8–10% for older, higher-stress CEOs.

27%

mitochondrial increase

High-intensity endurance training raises mitochondrial content ~27%, with up to triple the muscle oxidative capacity of the untrained.

Source: PMC

2.8–8 yrs

added life expectancy

Endurance athletes gain an estimated 2.8 to 8 additional years of life expectancy versus sedentary peers.

Source: PMC

87.7%

of founders struggle

87.7% of entrepreneurs report mental-health struggles. Endurance training provides documented neurological protection.

IRONMAN TriClub

We don't just talk about the start line. We race under one banner.

IronPreneur is a registered IRONMAN TriClub, founded by Bert Grobben in Singapore. Every member who races an IRONMAN or 70.3 under our name earns points for the club, and those points are cumulative across the whole year. The more of us who toe the line, the higher we climb.

Individual rankings reward your three best races. Club rankings reward the tribe: every finish counts, every season, no caps. A community that refuses to choose between building and racing now has a scoreboard that rewards doing both, together.

How the club climbs

  1. 01

    Race for us

Affiliate your IRONMAN profile with IronPreneur. It's free, and you don't need to be a paying member of anything.

  2. 02

    Earn cumulative points

Every IRONMAN, 70.3, or 5150 you finish credits Age Group Ranking points to the club. Cumulative all year, no best-three cap.

  3. 03

    Climb the divisions

Clubs are ranked by division. We start in Division V. More racers, more points, higher division, real IRONMAN perks.

IRONMAN scores clubs on triathlon results today. We track the rest, T100, UTMB, ultras, every endurance feat our members chase, because the club exists to celebrate all of it.

Racing for us is free and earns the club points. Joining IronPreneur is where the real member benefits live.

The founder

Returning to full-distance Ironman: Cairns 70.3 in June 2026 with Roman, building toward Da Nang 140.6 in May 2027. The system isn't theory. It's the comeback he is living in public, and he isn't building it alone. A growing team is forming around it.
